Medical Coder

Overview

We’re looking for a Medical Coder to join our team.

You will directly report to Billing Manager. You will be responsible for conducting coding activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Identifies actual or possible coding errors by review of diagnosis lists.

• Recognizes diagnoses documented within medical records other than from a diagnosis list.

• Demonstrates accurate coding practices and excellent customer service skills to assist branches with hospice diagnosis coding.

About You

• Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and Coding Conventions

• Ability to find and confirm diagnosis codes using a coding manual or established electronic ICD-10 database

• Ability to educate and train others on coding guidelines

• Desired: Four years recent full-time ICD-10-CM coding in home health or hospice

• Considered: Two years or less recent of full-time ICD-10-CM coding for home health or hospice

• At least one of the following active credentials:

• HCS-H

• HCS-D

• BCHH-C

• AAPC
